The last event on Shaldon Bowling Club calendar. The Ken Parker 4s was played this Saturday afternoon, a game that looked back to the club's history through the lives of the Parker family. Ken was the Landlord of Shaldons London Inn, here he raised his family with close links to the bowling club. His son Mike Parker still plays for the club, along with his Grandson Chris. This year his Great Grandson Josh took the field to play in one of the teams along with his Dad Chris. It was also a chance for players from both our A and B team get together to celebrate both sides winning their respective leagues. Dodging the rain and wind, the teams also had a spell of sunshine during the last couple of ends. The winners by 1 point was the team of, Chris Napin, Warren Carpenter. John Pearce, and Andy Crawford. The runners up were, Brian Crisp, Frank, Norman Howells, and Lee Haywood. Well done and thanks to everyone who took to the field for the challenge. Having managed to stay relatively dry all the teams retired to the Conservative Club. For a bit of R & R. 🍺
